For many girls, missing school during their period

For many girls, missing school during their periods was once considered normal. What began as a noble initiative supporting girls in just 2 schools in 2015 has over the years, grown into a long-term commitment to dignity, education, and opportunity through our Keep Her In School initiative.

Today, we support 849 girls across 8 schools in Laikipia East through the provision of sanitary towels, menstrual hygiene awareness, and mentorship programs designed to keep girls confidently in the classroom. Over 126,681 sanitary packets have been distributed to date, helping recover valuable learning days and reducing absenteeism caused by period poverty.

This World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we celebrate the progress made, the lives impacted, and the collective effort required to ensure every girl can learn, grow, and thrive without interruption. Keeping the girls in school is about more than education; it's about equity, opportunity, and empowering the next generation.
