Mt. Kilimanjaro is a mystery adorned in clouds and its magnificent snowy peaks stand imperious, overseeing the entire content. Not only is this the highest peak in Africa, but also the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, and those who conquer it rightfully earn their climbing certificates - and their incredible memories.
The Lemosho Route is considered the most scenic trail on Kilimanjaro, granting visitors panoramic vistas and walks through pristine rainforest, with a good chance of seeing wildlife. Some come to conquer this winter wonderland of ice and snow, and stand on the roof of Africa.
Day 1: Arusha
Upon arrival into Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to Arusha. A charming and dusty East-African city, Arusha is situated beneath the towering peaks of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, and is often the first port of call for travellers. Enjoy a relaxing overnight stay in Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a tour of the evergreen coffee estate, followed by lunch in the sprawling gardens. This afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Arusha airport for your flight to Tarangire National Park
Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive hunting for wildlife along the sandy banks of the Tarangire river, set against the stunning backdrop of majestic baobab trees and twisted acacias. As the sun sets, you’ll be taken to your lodge for sundowners, dinner, and overnight.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you’ll spend the entire day exploring the hilly landscapes of Tarangire, weaving in and out of dense bush, iconic Baobab trees, and high grasses as you go in search of the park’s astounding range of wildlife.
Drive along the banks of the meandering Tarangire River, where elephants, giraffe, and other animals congregate in the golden light of late afternoon, reminding you why this park is arguably one of East Africa’s last discovered jewels. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Optional activities: Night game drive, game-walks, and sundowners.
Day 4: Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, enjoy the absolute peacefulness of a pink African morning as you take one last game drive through Tarangire park, with a stop for a picnic lunch, before being transferred to the airstrip for your flight to the Manyara airstrip.
Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. You’ll spend two incredible nights within the remote and striking beauty of the Ngorongoro crater, the largest volcanic caldera in the world.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
Set out for a full day of exploration of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, also known as Tanzania’s Garden of Eden. With remarkable views from the ridge above, to joining in the real action on the crater floor below, your day will be filled by a constant stir of wildlife and stunning scenes that will stay in your memories forever.
Following a picnic lunch under the yellow fever trees, continue your exploration of the crater into the afternoon, you’ll return to your lodge for sundowners, dinner, and overnight.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park
Today, you’ll have the option of relaxing at your lodge or visiting Lake Manyara National Park, an unspoiled paradise that offers visitors nothing short of a surreal safari experience, thanks to its iconic tree-climbing lions.
After lunch, you’ll be transferred for your onward flight to the Serengeti. Upon arrival, begin your exploration of this magnificent vast wilderness. This game drive ends at your camp, where you’ll arrive in time for sundowners, dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Serengeti National Park
Today, you’ll embark on a journey to explore what the Maasai call ‘Siringitu’ - the place where the land moves on forever. Few people forget their first encounter with the Serengeti, whether it’s because of the coalition of lions stalking across the endless savannah, their manes catching the breeze, or the wildebeest migrating in millions, following the ancient rhythm of Africa’s seasons.
At dusk, your exploration of this paradise ends and you’ll return to your camp for sundowners, dinner, and another overnight stay.
Day 8: Serengeti National Park - Arusha
After breakfast, push the boundaries of your travel experience and explore the evergreen forests that lie on the banks of the roaring Grumeti River on foot. Return to your lodge in time for lunch.
Enjoy one last adventure out in the true African wild enroute to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha, and onward road transfer (if required) to Kilimanjaro Airport.
